The Philadelphia Eagles win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX has inspired the theme for the 70th anniversary of the Night in Venice boat parade on July 26 in Ocean City.

Dave Winslow, the Night in Venice Planning Committee chair, announced that the parade theme will revolve around “70 Years of Champions.” Boaters, spectators, and others who participate in the Night in Venice commemoration will be invited to honor the Eagles’ Super Bowl win or any other individual or championship team from the last seven decades.

“From our own high school to professional sports, we’ve been lucky to have seen so many champions,” Mayor Jay Gillian said in an interview with OC NJ Daily. “This will be a fun year for Night in Venice.”

The boat parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, along the bayfront from the Ocean City-Longport Bridge to Tennessee Avenue. A fireworks display over the bay will conclude the celebration after the parade.

Last year, approximately 100 boats participated, and 175 homes were decorated. Thousands of spectators lined the bayfront to watch the parade unfold, while thousands more attended private parties at residences along the parade route.

Entries are being accepted from anyone who wants to join in this year’s Night in Venice celebration. Awards will be presented to the most decked-out bayfront homes and boats. Entries may be submitted online or by calling 609-399-6111.

Last year, the Night in Venice boat parade carried the theme “Margaritaville” to honor the late musician Jimmy Buffett. Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham and his family served as special guests for the parade to give it a Philadelphia flair. According to OC NJ Daily, Graham rode on a boat and joined in the “E-A-G-L-E-S” cheer as Philly fans lined the parade route along the Ocean City waterfront.
