Mt. Airy will be closing portions of Germantown Avenue to vehicles for four nights this summer to accommodate its outdoor Supper Sessions dining and entertainment program.

The Supper Sessions return on the second Wednesday of each month from June through September: June 11, July 19, Aug. 13, and Sept. 10. During these Supper Sessions, the 7100 and 7200 blocks of Germantown Avenue will close to vehicle traffic between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Community dining tables will be placed in the streets for people to sit and enjoy food, beverages, and entertainment.

According to a PhillyVoice report, several restaurants along Germantown Avenue — including Bar Lizette, Jyoti, McMenamin’s Tavern, Mi Puebla, Toska Restaurant & Brewery, and Trattoria Moma — will provide takeout. Several food trucks will also join the festivities, including Cousins Maine Lobster, Deke’s Bar-B-Que, Federal Donuts & Chicken, and Korea Taqueria.

The seasonal Supper Series promises guests dinner and entertainment, with performances from Circadium, the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts Youth Troupe, and Philly Rhythm’s youth drumline. Families can also explore a kids’ zone on Mt. Airy Avenue for complimentary face painting and moon bounce jumps. The Supper Sessions also will feature live music from Forbidden Brass, Harvest Groove Collective, Mixed People, Play It Forward, and Reverend Chris and the Lower 19119.

In the event of inclement weather, the Supper Sessions will be postponed to the following Wednesday.
