The Free Library of Philadelphia invites Philadelphia-area residents of all ages to explore a “Summer of Wonder” from Monday, June 9, through Friday, Aug. 8.
During the summer, the library invites kids to track their reading, activities, and library programs with a take-home Summer of Wonder Activity Map, which is available on the library’s website in 13 languages.
Using the map, kids can enjoy fun activities, a sketch-your-own comic panel, an anagram puzzle, and a fold-out map of Philadelphia to help them and their parents explore the city and mark their discoveries with specially designed Philly Stickers. Participants can earn prizes for their progress, including books, lanyards, and museum passes.
Teens can sign up for the Teen Raffle (also available in 13 languages) and receive a Free Library journal while supplies last. Participants can complete a raffle sheet up to three times to have a shot at winning a prize at the end of the summer. Adults can engage in the fun by entering a raffle that is available at participating Free Library locations and by joining the online reading challenge.
