The Beach Football League (BFL) will soon make its debut in Wildwood. The BFL will host open tryouts and events as part of its Summer Tour on the Jersey Shore, with activities taking place on the beach at Schellenger Avenue in Wildwood, New Jersey.

The Wildwood Classic Open Tryouts will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, starting at 9 a.m. each day. A panel of NFL legends will serve as judges for the tryouts.

According to a post by the Wildwood Video Archive, tryout participants must be 18 or older, have graduated high school in 2024 or earlier, are not under contract with another professional league, and not currently competing on a college team.

Players who impress the judges will be chosen to compete in a Beach Football League exhibition game led by Philadelphia Eagles legend Desean Jackson and Clinton Portis of the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins (now Commanders) as team captains. According to Wildwood Video Archive, the two NFL giants will draft their own BFL squads for an on-the-sand battle in front of the fans.
