The Atlantic Brass Band will kick off the 36th annual Cape May Music Festival with a free outdoor concert on Sunday, May 25. The concert will occur at the Rotary Park Bandstand, 400-498 Lafayette St. If rain occurs, the concert will move indoors to the Cape May Convention Hall at 714 Beach Ave. Admission is free.
Now in its 36th year, the annual Cape May Music Festival, presented by Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture), with major support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, will feature diverse musical performances from May 25 through June 28. According to a New Jersey Stage report, residents and visitors can experience 14 brass band, classical, chamber, funk, and jazz ensembles performing for the festival.
Tickets for the concerts can be purchased in advance by phone at 609-884-5404 or online at capemaymac.org. Those who wish to purchase tickets in puchase can come to the Hill House Visitor Service Center or Carriage House Visitor Service Center at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., or the Washington Street Mall information booth at Washington Street at Ocean Street.

The following are some of the performing ensembles that will take part in this year’s Cape May Music Festival:
- Classical music lovers will welcome the New York Chamber Ensemble, the New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players, and the Bay Atlantic Symphony. Bach’s Lunches at the Inn of Cape May and Mid-day Music and More at The Washington Inn will feature classical mini-concerts paired with lunch.
- A new group from Philadelphia called SNACKTIME will deliver a seven-piece funk and soul sound to Cape May.
- A Jazz Brunch with Paula Johns at the Shore Club and the George Mesterhazy Tribute Concert at the Episcopal Church of the Advent offer tunes that jazz lovers will appreciate. Evening concerts are scheduled on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
